Perfume types represent the concentration of aromatic chemicals in a solvent, commonly ethanol or a water-ethanol mixture, in a delicate fragrance. The definitions of scent kinds vary significantly between publications.
The perfume oil content in percentage/volume is as follows:
- Eau de Parfum (EdP), Parfum de Toilette (PdT): 10 - 20% aromatic components (typically 15%). The term "eau de parfum" or "millésime" is also used.
- Eau de Toilette (EdT): 5 - 15% aromatic components (typically 10%).
